just got back from my 2nd f2f

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

just got back from my 2nd f2f

Just got back from my 2nd F2F meeting. The 1st meeting of the month is a step meeting, which I'm sure you all know. I met a wonderful woman who has been going to meetings for about 8 years. Just like this forum, I cannot believe how much I can relate to everyone's feelings, fears and experiences. Just 6 months ago, I felt like I was the only one going through any of this. I thought I was crazy.

I know this is where I belong for my own sanity. I appreciate the support both online and in the rooms. I know it's not going to be an easy journey, but for the first.time in a very long time, I feel hopeful.

Thanks everyone!

It is not an easy journey. But recovery can happen, all the way around.

I understand how you feel. The night I went to my first f2f Naranon mtg, I knew I was home. I have been to many other fellowship meetings, but this was the one that told me that I am home. This week I have felt a little lost. I could not attend my usual meeting on Tuesday because of teacher-parent conferences. I could attend the Thursday meeting (my home group has started a second meeting) becuase one of my daughters had oral surgery and needed her mommy. On top of that many of my friends are at the convention - including my sponsor. So I am not feeling comfortable in my own skin. But I do know this, Never Alone, Never Again. Hugs to all of you.

Yay! Sounds like you're already feeling the magic. Keep going, it is amazing how healing it can be to share your stories with others who get it!

::hugs::

Glad you went again! :)

My second f2f will be Tuesday night...I really didn't want to go to my first f2f last week, because of how depressing those mtgs. were when I attempted them along time ago.. I was literally sitting here in my sweats 45 minutes before the mtg., and for some reason I got up, changed, & drove there. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when I got there & saw all the happy, smiling faces...and would you believe that six of my friends were there? I had no clue they were even going to meetings, but they all looked at me when I walked in, as if to say 'it's about time you got here'. :)
