Chat Room Access

A few months back, I got a new PC with internet explorer 8 installed. I had difficulty getting into the chat rooms and was told NOT to back down to IE7. I updated some applications and all was fine. Since the crash of the forum, I am unable to get into the chat rooms again. Tried using Firefox as well as IE8 but have had no luck. It initalizes the room, loads the "sounds" and the "skin" and then I get a blank screen.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been using my laptop to attend meetings but it's pretty slow (and I'm pretty slow on it). Thanks!!

Quick update. At some online meeting I was attending someone mentioned that the chat wouldn't start up without her speakers on. Sooooo.... I bought some new speakers, hunted around for sound drivers, and voila -- I'm in the chat room.

Who would have thought sound was needed for a chat room? Go figue. Thought I'd pass this tidbit along to you and keep it out there in case anyone else has troubles.
