I'd give you an explanation, if we were allowed to talk about it here. Apparently we're not, so I won't.

This is precisely why the New Forum was created. So if you had an issue or problem or concern you could post it there and not here. The purpose is so that this forum, which is supposed to be a place of peace, serenity and recovery does not get bogged down with controversary.

This post will be moved to that forum now because that's where it belongs.

Your statement is true in a perfect world... The reality is that people do get involved in petty nonsense!

This new part of the forum is still open to everyone... for reading, sharing, and expressing concerns. But since the content of it's posts will most like have to do with Off Topic issues ( meaning not dealing directly with Addiction and Recovery) it was given a special place.

Think of it as keeping things organized... for example, don't decide to put your unread mail in the oven - because if you forget to take it out before making that roast... you will start a huge fire!

Many forums on line are organized into sub-forums... specific to the users different needs for separate recovery categories! And you can jump from one to the other.

It is a great organizational tool... so lets not get involved into petty nonsense about it having to do with censorships...

P.S. How much more work this is for the Moderators and the Web Administrator is something we don't know, think about, or are grateful for...

It may just be me, yet I believe the 12 steps in and of themselves, when working the program, contain censorship.

People are not free to speak about many a subject. You can't share about other literature unless it is CAL approved etc etc.

Trying to share about what my HP is doing in me and through me is very difficult sometimes as well as I have to chop out a fair amount that is probably the most important.

I can't give a political view point, and there can be many when it comes to rehabs and mental health and how Govt. and science never look at the spiritual aspect of illness.

I have also been known to walk very close to these censorship lines, and crossed them sometimes, and received my due consequence.

Sometimes this bothers me and most times it doesn't, if I want recovery I have to accept censorship.

It has always fascinated me that Bill W. himself said the 12 steps were spiritual kindergarten and we do behave a lot like kindergarten children sometimes.

I mean we even discuss sandboxes.

Maybe that entire thread ought not to have been removed and it appears to have been powerful enough to rock some people's recovery. So be it - it was done, it comes under something that can't be change and yet we have worked on changing the things we can.

I think it is an awfully sad day in Paradise when many long time recoveree's can not see how much good can come out of mistakes and get all wounded and huffy and want to remain in that place of fear. It does not promote what I am seeking if this indeed is a program of attraction not promotion.

Working through and past mistakes and making appropriate changes does promote recovery to me.

Maybe step one before one could be - prepare to be censored. We have come to accept that we can only read what we are told, talk about what we are told and practice what we are told. Welcome to recovery. Yet the underlying idea is we are free and autonomous.

Does my negative spin on recovery affect mine - no - but then again I am not quite sane apparently.
